About Joanna Tanger
Joanna has extensive experience working in strategic communications, digital marketing, website design, and fundraising for nonprofits, start-ups, and higher education institutions. Joanna has taught email marketing, social media strategy, and best website practices classes, including a presentation at Vassar College to colleagues from top liberal arts colleges. A lover of technology from an early age, she taught herself HTML as a teenager and founded a young women's site that was featured in ELLEgirl magazine as "Website of the Month" when she was 17 years old.
She graduated from Bard College in 2007 with a degree in cultural anthropology. Shortly after graduation, Joanna WWOOFed on a donkey farm in the French Pyrenees and bought a one-way ticket to Prague, Czech Republic, where she received her TEFL certification and went on to teach business English for the large language agency, Skrivanek. Her clients included an advisor to the Czech president and the president of a major international medical company. In 2018, Joanna received a certificate in digital marketing from the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. She is currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University. She has lived in Vermont, New York, Ireland, and the Czech Republic, and has traveled extensively. Joanna lives with her husband, Michael, two border collie/Australian shepherds named Carter and Finn, and two black cats, Mr. Bear and Iris, in the southern Champlain Valley of Vermont. |
